Spanish at The Pennsylvania State University
Spanish is one of the most spoken languages worldwide, and is the official language is many countries around the globe. If you are interested in starting or continuing your studies in Spanish, Penn State offers students a major in Spanish with a combined focus on linguistics and literature. Additionally, the department offers various options to study abroad (Puebla, MEX; Ronda, ESP, and the most recent one... Cuba!) for students to experience the language and culture in a naturalistic immersion environment.

The program offers students an M.A/Ph.D in either literature or linguistics. The Spanish Basic Language Program at The Pennsylvania State University
The Spanish Basic Language Program (also known as SBLP) offers students beginning and intermediate levels of Spanish culture and language classes. The classes are intended for native speakers of a language other than English, and consist of three 4-credit courses.
Spanish 1, 2, and 3
Spanish 1 in taught entirely online, and Spanish 2 and 3 are divided into two hours per week of class instruction, and online instruction and homework.
Spanish 10 and 20
Spanish 10 and 20 are intensive language classes where students have 5 class meetings per week. They are designed to cover the content from Spanish 1, 2, and 3 in half of the time.
